U.S. Department of Defense Organizes Adriatic 3 Event on Special Forces Unit Organization (Oct. 24, 2005)

The Office of Defense Cooperation of the United States Department of Defense, under the Military-to-Military Program (M2M), will host in Tirana an event for Special Forces Units.

This is the first of seven Adriatic Charter (A-3) events planned for the next year. The purpose of the event is to provide information and facilitate discussion among the A-3 Balkan Armed Forces on best practices for organizing Special Forces units. The goal is to enable these specialized forces to participate in peacekeeping and other operations in support of the Global War on Terrorism. The event will also help prepare Special Forces for participation in coalition operations.

A3 events are combined Balkan events for Albania, Macedonia, and Croatia. Hungary is participating in this event as well. This event will be conducted at the Sheraton Hotel, October 25-27, 2005.
