U.S. Appreciation for Albanian Support Following Hurricane Katrina (Sept. 4, 2005)

The United States offers its sincerest thanks for the many expressions of condolence and solidarity from so many of the people of Albania in the aftermath of the devastation caused by hurricane Katrina.

We are particularly grateful for the letter from President Moisiu to President Bush, and for the message from Dr. Berisha. We deeply appreciate the words of solace and generous offers of future support from our Albanian friends.

We are grateful, once again, Albania has shown itself a true friend of the United States by coming forward to stand shoulder to shoulder with us at a crucial time of need.
