Visa Waiver Program

Effective October 26, 2004, each traveler applying for admission under the Visa Waiver Program must be in possession of a machine-readable passport (MRP), or obtain a nonimmigrant visa in their current (non-machine-readable) passport. VWP travelers are not/not required to present MRPs with biometric identifiers as of October 26, 2004.
