How to Make an Immigrant Visa Appointment

How to Make an Immigrant Visa Appointment

For Immigrant Visa Applicants: Once the National Visa Center (NVC) has received all the documents necessary to complete the visa application, NVC will send the applicant/petitioner a letter or e-mail with the time and date of the visa interview. All required documents the applicant collected will be needed for the visa interview. Documents must not be expired on the visa appointment date.

For K Visa Applicants: After your approved petition by the USCIS comes through NVC to Consular Section, the petitioner and/or beneficiary will be contacted by e-mail (preferred) or by mail with the Instruction Package listing documents and forms you have to send to the Consular Section.  Once your case is documentarily complete, the Consular Section will e-mail you with instructions on how to schedule your visa appointment date.  All required documents the applicant collected will be needed for the visa interview. Documents must not be expired on the visa appointment date.

For Diversity Visa Applicants: Once KCC has scheduled your visa appointment date, your account at the Entrant Status Check will be updated by showing the date and time of your appointment to the Consular Section.  You must gather the required documentation and submit it to the Consular Section on your appointment date.

Visa interviews are conducted on weekdays Monday through Friday during regular business hours, with the exception of U.S. and Albanian holidays.

On the day of the interview, applicants must bring their appointment letter issued by NVC or the Consulate.  If you do not, you will be turned away.

Please do not purchase a plane ticket or make travel arrangements to go to the U.S. before you have been issued a visa.
