American Citizen Services by Appointment Only

Starting August 3, 2009, U.S. citizen services will be provided by appointment only. Services available from the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Tirana include passport applications, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA), notarial services (including Freedom to Marry and Residency affidavits), federal benefits, voting assistance, and I-130 filing for U.S. citizens resident in Albania.

Walk-in services will be provided only for emergencies. Emergency issues include lost U.S. passport with imminent travel, hospitalization, imprisonment or death of a U.S. citizen.

In case of emergency, please call the Embassy's duty officer at +355-(0)4-224-7285 thru 89. Emergency services include the event of a death, arrest, or life-threatening illness of U.S. citizens.

NOTE: According to the policy of the U.S. Embassy in Tirana, visa inquiries can only be addressed in writing to ensure accuracy in answering. No visa inquires will be taken during American Citizen Services.
