Hours of Services
Starting August 3, 2009, U.S. citizen services will be provided by appointment only. Services available from the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Tirana include passport applications, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA), notarial services (including Freedom to Marry and Residency affidavits), federal benefits, voting assistance, and I-130 filing for U.S. citizens resident in Albania.

According to the policy of the U.S. Embassy in Tirana, visa inquiries can only be addressed in writing to ensure accuracy in answering. No visa inquires will be taken during American Citizen Service Hours. Please do not schedule an online appointment regarding this issue. You may send an e-mail at tiranausconsulate@state.gov and inquire regarding a visa issue. We will be happy to respond to your inquiry within 10 (ten) working days.

Walk-in services will be provided only for emergencies. Emergency issues include the loss or theft of a U.S. passport with imminent travel, hospitalization, imprisonment or death of an American citizen.
A duty officer is available after hours and on weekends to assist U.S. citizens with serious emergency situations such as arrests, death, serious illness or accidents involving U.S. citizens. In case of an emergency please call the duty officer at +355-(0)4-224-7285 - 89.
