Statement by the U.S. Embassy in Tirana, Albania (March 15, 2008)
 
The U.S. Embassy has noted with shock and concern the reports of the tragic accident in the military depot near Gėrdec. The thoughts and sympathies of the American people are with the soldiers and others affected in this terrible incident. Embassy staff will be in contact with Albanian Government officials to determine what assistance we may be able to provide.
