U.S. Embassy Applauds Albania’s Expression of Support on the U.S. Government’s Diplomatic Initiative With Iran (Jun. 02, 2006)

The U.S. Embassy welcomes and deeply appreciates the Government of Albania’s statement of support for the U.S. Government’s recent offer to directly engage Iran diplomatically on the issue of nuclear proliferation. This represents the first offer in 25 years by the United States to engage in direct diplomatic talks with Iran and it makes clear our determination to use all available means to resolve this issue through diplomacy.

The choice for Iran is clear - a positive peaceful choice to engage diplomatically and cooperate with the IAEA and suspend uranium enrichment activities or a negative choice to continue along its current path to international isolation.
